Collectors of rugby league memorabilia have a new reason to be excited because the Sydney Roosters are poised to sign former Wallaby star Lote Tuqiri. Team brokers are preparing to make Tuqiri a significant offer to get him to Sydney for the next season. Tuqiri will have to take a pay cut but it may be worth it to him to get back into the league after being dismissed from the league and having his contract terminated.
Provided that the Roosters are successful in their efforts to sign Tuqiri, rugby league signed merchandise which bears his name is certain to become a hot (and valuable) commodity.
There wont be any rugby league memorabilia with Tuqiri’s name on the back of a West Tigers jersey because the Tigers have dropped out of contention for the star after Tuqiri’s handlers made it clear that he had no interest in the club.
Unfortunately for rugby league memorabilia collectors, it doesn’t seem that there will be any West Tigers jerseys or other memorabilia with Tuqiri’s name on it, as the club has decided to stop pursuing the player after his management made it clear he was unwilling to sign on with the team.
The Roosters would certainly benefit from the association because of the star’s major crowd pulling power. It just leaves a matter of whether or not the team can put together a good enough offer to snare Tuqiri. Other league teams appear to be out of the running. The Bulldogs can not consider the addition since they have increased Brian Goodwin’s contract and also signed both Mickey Paea and Junior Tia Kilifi. Gold Coast also said they would pass on trying to get Turqiri to the Titans.
Lote Tuqiri is a huge draw with rugby fans and naturally, the Roosters would be pleased to get this superstar on their team. At the moment, everything seems to hinge on whether the Roosters can make the player a large enough offer to interest him in signing on with the club. However, the Roosters seem to be the only club still in contention to sign Tuqiri - the Bulldogs have dropped out after increasing Brian Goodwin’s contract and signing Mickey Paean and Junior Tia Kilifi. For their part, the Gold Coast Titans have also dropped out of the running and have decided not to work to sign Tuqiri for the upcoming season.
The biggest rugby league memorabilia are balls, jerseys and shorts. Having rugby league signed gear makes it worth a whole lot more. Rugby is a rough game so most of the gear that has been used in game play shows the tears and stains that make it look authentic. And that is where the real value is. Of course, the best is getting signed gear from big name players like Turqiri.
Fans all over the world are thrilled by the prospect of seeing him play again and the Roosters have high hopes for their club should they be able to lure Tuqiri to their roster.
Fans and rugby league memorabilia collectors alike are eagerly awaiting Tuqiri’s return to the league. Fans all over the world are ecstatic by the prospect of seeing him play again and the Roosters have big dreams for their club should they be able to lure Tuqiri to their roster. If you are truly a sport memorabilia fan that get over and have a look.
