Free Full Length Angel Movies

Most of them would be aware of the popular American TV show called by the name “Angel” which is a spin-off of another very popular television series called Buffy-The vampire slayer. The creator of the character Angel is also Joss Whedon, the man who created Buffy as well. But this series had another story writer to assist Whedon and he was David Greewalt. Both of them tried to bring in a new and refreshing change to the existing vampire story, though they did not find the expected results because Buffy was more accepted by the audience than Angel TV show.

The first season of this show had collections which was much higher than that of the Buffy. (The first season had collections of 4.8 million when compared to the 4.7 million grossed by the fourth season of Buffy). The hullabaloo of this TV show did live up to the expectations to a fair extent, but it could not gain much TRP’s after the first season because most of the screenplay was in a dark atmosphere and also the storyline faded and did not meet the expected level.. The entire series thus concluded on May 19, 2004 after a continuous run for five years.

The basic storyline of Angel is similar to Buffy and the main character of this story is a vampire named Angel and he has to battle against all odds while working as a private detective agent. The odds are battles with evil spirits and demons and also his own self. Actually, the human soul of Angel has been returned as a punishment by the gypsies for killing someone in their own clan. Thus, the soul torments our hero by making him feel the guilt and pain about the atrocious actions he had carried out in the past.

Though Angel was less accepted by the people when compared with Buffy, it had a distinct quality of its own. The themes of Angel TV show was more mature than Buffy which concentrated on children as their main followers. Angel TV show too concentrated on children as their main source of TRP’s but the element of violence in this show was on an increased scale thus reducing the younger audiences to an extent. The main character of the Angel TV show was donned by David Boreanaz. The role of Doyle was carried out to near perfection by Glenn Quinn and Charisma Carpenter did justice to her role as Chordelia Chase.

You can watch Angel online free right from your home if you have a good internet connection. This is a much better option rather than buying the DVD set of the entire five seasons. There are a total of 110 episodes which have been uploaded in the internet by many providers and all it takes is a click of your mouse button. And if you do wish to own your own DVD set of the entire Angel TV show collection, you can very well download it too.

From Day One - Learning How To Be A Speed Reader

The Be Dynamic Through Speed Reading method, by Dr. Jay Polmar, is designed for people that read large volumes of printed material. Sometimes they get frustrated when they can’t keep up with all the intriguing literature that is released. Authors around the world produce printed data and fiction, at a rate so phenomenal, that even the most avid of readers struggle to keep up. With our DYNAMIC SPEED READING method, you’ll easily be able to read twice to three times the amount you now read in the same time.

The human brain/mind is capable of comprehending and cataloging from 10,000 to 50,000 units of information every minute (one unit being equal to one word) and this is based upon old statistics. Based on the new technologies in education and strides in self-development, your brain/mind is capable of much more.

The human body is a vehicle that records various senses and transfers them to the brain/mind. The brain/mind acts like a computer. Perhaps the brain/mind is the body’s operational computer to make easier for us to learn. We learn through information (data) which is transmitted in many ways. We receive data through our five physical senses, and our brain/mind makes decisions, choices and judgments from those factors.

The limitations in reading were programmed during childhood when we were first taught to read. Yet, brain/mind researchers have shown that through DYNAMIC SPEED READING techniques, thousands have broken that pattern and increased speeds dramatically.

This course teaches methods for becoming Dynamic. We expect you, minimally, to become a speed reader who loves to read and improve the quality of your life. Maximally, we expect great, positive successes from our students. A beginning average reading speed for the average American high school graduate is about 250 words per minute. Those from the south read somewhat slower because of their drawl. Those who stutter also read slower. An average college student reads approximately 300 w.p.m.

Please take note: Recent studies have indicated that the English reading rate has dropped due to poor education in the past decade. The reduction of reading speed is astounding averaging 35% poor reading rates in the US. Be Dynamic undoes the damage made by the poor education system and was developed by Dr. Jay Polmar, who studied in the US when education mean something special and reading was king.

Ponyo Online Free Watch

There is a strong belief that Walt Disney and Hayao Miyazaki are masters of the same genre but born at different times. We have seen some beautiful animated films from the hands of Miyazaki like Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. Ponyo, however, is a major disappointment. There are a lot of loopholes in the plot and other deficiencies too which make this movie look really bad. Ponyo is actually an anime which might bore the young teens after a few minutes. It will be enjoyed by the kids only.

The film is a loose adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson’s “The Little Mermaid”. The story revolves around a goldfish which falls in love with a young human boy. The little fish wishes that she become a girl so that both of them can live their lives together.

The film is an utter disappointment to the Miyazaki fans. He has directed classics like “Spirited Away” and “Howl’s Moving Castle” but he seems to have faltered while making this movie. The animation will not enthrall you and there is a good chance that people will get bored after the initial half an hour or so.

The main drawback of the Ponyo movie is the script. A film cannot succeed if it has a weak script. The same happens with Ponyo. However, there are a few scenes which will capture the imagination of the audience. There is one scene in particular that deserves a special mention - the one in which Ponyo takes the human form and runs along a giant Tsunami - is simply stunning. However, we expected a lot of these from the person who pioneered Japanese animation.

Ponyo (voiced by Noah Cyrus) is a baby fish who lives with her father (Liam Neeson), a magical sea guardian. She decides to leave her father and home behind to explore more of the world. In her little adventures she falls into a trash and is swept ashore. She is picked up by Sosuke (Frankie Jonas), a five year old boy. The two becomes friendly and starts liking each other. One day, by accident, she tastes a drop of Sosuke’s blood and she get changed to a little girl. Her father makes all kind of attempts to stop the changes but fails in every effort. Ponyo, on the other hand, is determined and breaks free from all of them. She heads for the surface.

There are a lot of questions that follow - why are the tides rising? Why is the moon drawing close? You need to watch the movie to find the answers to these. The underlying condition is that their love needs to blossom for world order to stabilize. I will not recommend watching this movie at a theater. You can watch Ponyo online free without any hassles.

The children will probably love Ponyo but I feel a sense of pity for the parents as it will be a real torture for them. The voice, though, is good especially by Cate Blanchette, Matt Damon and of course, Liam Neeson. The film boasts of good actors as the voices so it is sad to see such a poor product. We hope Mr Miyazaki will bounce back with his next. Till then we need to be contented with this one only.

Watch Chicken Run Online For Free

2000 gave us one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, Chicken Run. This is a highly acclaimed animation film and has already won a number of awards and nominations including the prestigious Golden Globe nomination. The film falls into the genre of comedy drama and it is set in the 1950s’ Yorkshire.

The film has a really simple tale to tell. Mr and Mrs Tweedy own a chicken farm that is known as the Tweedy Egg Farm. They have formulated very hard rules which states clearly that hens which do not produce the required number of eggs will be chopped straightaway. The chickens are a lucky lot as they do not have any such rules to follow.

One night she feels very sad after a fellow chicken gets axed. She, feeling low, wanders alone and reaches the gate where she sees a rooster flying joyously through the air. The rooster crashes and injures his wing. Ginger saves him and on further questioning he reveals that he is Rocky and he has escaped from a circus. He now enjoys his new found freedom to the fullest. Rocky asks Ginger for a favor.

He asks Ginger to protect and save him when the circus party arrives at the farm looking for him. Ginger agrees but asks for a return favor. Rocky should teach Ginger and her friends how to fly so that they can fly away to freedom. Rocky agrees and teaches to fly but in the process leaves no stone unturned to totally irritate them especially Ginger and organizer Officer Fowler. On the other hand, the owner of the farm, Tweety’s purchased a machine to make chicken pies and intend to cook all the chickens of the farm. But were Ginger and her friends’ fortunate enough to fly away from the farm? Did she escape or she too became one of those ‘chicken pies’? The answers to all these and many more can be found when you watch the film.

The Chicken Run movie is an out and out entertainer and can be enjoyed by the whole family. The kids will simply love it. The flick scores a point or two more than other animation films as it successfully blends humor and intellectual parodies. The dialogue deliveries are simply brilliant. Mel Gibson as Rocky is outstanding and voice modulations will leave you speechless. Julia Sawalha as the voice of Ginger is also very convincing.

As an animation film, Chicken Run is simply superb. But don’t expect any sort of realistic animation. The chickens don’t look like the ones that you can find in the local market. They look different but that is where their charm lies. They are well defined characters and you will fall in love so much with them that you will laugh and cry with these chickens.

Chicken Run will be loved by both adults and kids. You can watch Chicken Run online free and save yourself the trouble of going to the theater.

Redefining Reading And Publishing With E-Book Readers

2009 was the year that e-book readers became hot news. Amazon released both the Kindle 2.0 and the Kindle DX, which created quite a bit of publicity for e-book readers in general and the Kindle reader in particular. Companies like Sony and Barnes and Noble responded with their own readers - the Daily Edition and The Nook - whilst others, such as Apple and Microsoft worked hard to develop their own offerings for release in the near future.

E-book readers are essentially consumer electronics devices, so it is very easy, and perfectly understandable, to concentrate on the various technical merits and demerits of the devices themselves. Amazon’s Kindle has wireless connectivity, Sony’s Daily Edition lets you lend e-books to your family and friends, the Nook has a color screen, etc.

However, it may be worth considering that e-book readers may very possibly be the biggest thing to happen to reading - and publishing - since the invention of the printing press by Gutenberg in 1440. The invention of the printing press allowed books to be mass produced on paper instead of parchment or vellum. It reduced the cost of books and, quite literally, put them in the hands of the common man.

There really haven’t been any significant changes in the way that books are read since that time. There have certainly been efficiency improvements in printing technology. Word processors and computers have reduced costs further. Even so, the end product has remained remarkably similar to what Gutenberg produced - printed text on paper.

Publishers have been operating within certain confines as a result of the constant nature of their end product for centuries. They have produced a physical product, with print run costs and delivery fees associated with it.

The key thing to note about e-book readers is that they do not simply represent a more efficient way of carrying out the same process - they change all the rules, for publishers and readers alike. No physical product means that fewer materials are consumed - delivery charges are also very much reduced.

This means that e-books are not only cheaper to publish and deliver, but that they are - even considering the materials used in the e-book readers themselves - more environmentally friendly.

It also means that publishers have more options available to them in order to market both books and authors. For example, if a publisher wants to highlight a particular author, then they can offer a selection of their titles at very low prices - or completely free - for a short period of time. Another increasingly common tactic is to offer the first title in a series free in the hope that the reader will buy subsequent titles or possibly other books by the same author. Whilst not completely impossible, this would be a much riskier and more costly undertaking using a traditional print run.

There are a surprisingly large selection of free Kindle books available on Amazon’s website at the moment. Other Kindle books will have their first chapter available as a free download so that potential buyers can try before they buy. It’s possible that this might encourage readers to try authors that they may have otherwise passed over.

As understandable as the present excitement with the technical capabilities of e-book readers is, it will be the additional opportunities for publishers and the increased choice coupled with instant access for readers that is going to change the way that we look at books in the future.

Want to Speak Spanish To Vacation In Spain, Mexico, Or Elsewhere?

My Story: I had a challenge. I needed to move to Mexico for my health and to retire, and I spoke English; I also knew a few words of French from high school, about 12 words of Spanish which could wind me up in fight or jail, yeah - mostly curse words.

Luckily, I met Reuben Varela, a well known Restauranteur at the Balneario Hot Springs in San Juan Cosala, Jalisco, Mexico and Gerardo Tolentino, an English teacher who was teaching 1st year English.

I was the gringo — and I sure needed a guide to get me through the experience of living in Mexico. We searched the internet, and books on Spanish, and listened to conversations in the English speaking sections of restaurants in Ajijic and San Miguel de Allende where most of the gringos hang out.

We talked to them and asked them what they needed, and we listened to what they asked of the waiters, restaurant owners, etc. Later, then Gerardo accompanied me to doctors and we went to travel through Mexico.

Plenty of Short Book Reviews

The Ha-Ha by Dave King: Dave King avoids easy answers and neat resolutions to Howard’s dilemma. Howard knows that eventually Sylvia will come home and Ryan will leave his house. He’s afraid that his life will revert to the way it was before Ryan came, and now that he’s had a taste of something better, he can’t go back to that again. He also doesn’t know if there’s anything he can do about it.

December 6 by Martin Cruz Smith: December 6 is a novel that succeeds on many levels. It’s an education into the mindset and culture of pre-war Japan. It’s an indictment of those beating the drums of war behind their own self-righteousness. Best of all, it’s a great story, and the description of Harry’s predicament is peeled back layer by layer, and by the end we’ve come to understand and sympathize with him completely. There’s a bit of Harry in all of us, trying to do the right thing while taking advantage of the situation at the same time.

The Highest Tide by Jim Lynch: The Highest Tide is a short book, less than 250 pages, and can be read in one afternoon. Jim Lynch’s debut novel spends a wonderful summer with Miles O’Malley and the interesting and peculiar life that abounds in Puget Sound. Take an afternoon and enjoy it for yourself.

Divisadero by Michael Ondaatje: This is Michael Ondaatje’s gift to the rest of us, his net for holding everything dear to us, even if it eventually leads to heartache and the divisions in our lives. There is nothing predictable in Divisadero and each thread leads to another story that mirrors each other, turning back on itself, so that even its divisions are blurred. This is the poetry of this novel, and the poetry of our lives, that has been expertly captured here.

The Hungry Tide by Amitav Ghosh: For the most part, The Hungry Tide is a compelling book about ordinary people bound together in an exotic place that can consume them all. It’s the basest of human emotions, love, jealousy, pride, and trust, that will make the difference. That’s a lesson we all can learn, again, as we follow Piya, Kanai, and Fokir into the heart of tide country.

The Ghost by Robert Harris: Following Robert Harris’ own explanation, The Ghost feels true. His characters act like we believe politicians would, and his intrigue and secrets, while surprising within the story, are unsurprising in the world of political theater where the ends often justify the means. While Adam Lang is not Tony Blair, Harris’ outrage at recent history hits the nail on the head. The Ghost rises above political thriller to an eye-opening examination of the recent past and current issues. Whatever literary or political points he meant to score with The Ghost, Robert Harris has done so in both a thought-provoking and entertaining way.

Gods Behaving Badly by Marie Phillips: Despite a few bumps along the way and some mean, pernicious behavior of the gods, Gods Behaving Badly eventually rescues itself from the traps it must avoid. When it tends to get repetitious or too over the top, Marie Phillips guides it back to a scene or setting that highlights human foibles or insights, and the novel is back on the road to being an entertaining read. Once Neil and Alice are confident enough to take over the novel, it glides full of humor to its immortal conclusion. Gods Behaving Badly is an original concept wrapped around a familiar theme, and the combination of the unique setting, absurd and lecherous as it is, with a sweet love story makes it a successful debut novel for Marie Phillips. While you can’t necessarily count on the gods to do the right thing, reading Gods Behaving Badly is a safe bet for any reader.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer: If you only read perfect novels, then there would be very few books to read at all. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close can be uplifting and soul searing at different times. With the horrors and wounds of the 9/11 attacks still fresh, this novel may hit too close to home for some people. By the end of this book, how that awful day happened for all members of Oskar’s family is known, and beyond the pain lies hope, and Oskar is not as alone as he thinks he is. Oskar Schell’s story is one to cherish, and perhaps that metaphor for the lost innocence of the world is one we all ought to acknowledge and embrace.
